Article Ideas
Please submit your ideas via email to derek@devbuzz.com. We only need a few lines describing the technology or ideas that you will be presenting in your article. Please note the article must relate to .NET Compact Framework (and SDE), eVB or SQL Server 2000 for CE development. In addition we are always interested in publishing your reviews of Pocket PC software. Although we are happy to promote your software or services, these should be accompanied by a meaningful article for our readers. As of November 1 2001, articles evangelizing commercial product are no longer entered into our article competitions.

Timing
Please provide an estimated delivery timeframe. We need to be able to schedule publication. Please do not start until we have given you the go ahead on the article idea.

Registration/Author Biography
If you have not already done so please register as a developer once you have the go ahead for your article. Include your user name and bio; a promotional paragraph (3-4 lines) about your consulting experience or company; with your article submission so that we can maintain a the read counter for your article.

Humour
Although by no means a requirement, if you do have a sense of humour do not suppress it in your writing. We are looking for engaging articles. Do be cautious though since humor is subjective and can easily offend. In addition many people are schooled to avoid editorial humour - whatever your preference remember that the primary focus of our articles is to educate.

Competitions
From time to time we will be running competitions for authors, as and when we find sponsorships. If you are interested in sponsoring a survey or competition please contact derek@devbuzz.com. If you are submitting an article for one of our competitons or prize giveaways please indicate that fact in your email. Please read the note about how the article competitions are judged.

Format
I will email you the DEVBUZZ article templates.

Code
Please supply all related code as either a downloadable eVB project or as individual text files separate from the main article text. If you do use in-line code examples please ensure that the code "wraps" every 50 chars. This will allow the code to be cut and paste from within our web page format into a code editor without reformatting.

Length
The article should be 2-5 pages including any source code that you may embed in the article. Look at our current articles for an idea of length.

Copyright
We will own the copyright to the edited article once published. If you wish to publish the DEVBUZZ article somewhere else please ask. You, as the author, retail full rights to the article content, code and techniques presented.

Second Language
If you speak a second language please consider a translation in addition to the English copy. We get many emails from people worldwide.

Independence
DEVBUZZ.COM's editorial staff are entirely independent of any manufacturer, VAR or software interests - our articles reflect the opinions and perspectives of our readers and editors.

Editorial
We will be formatting and editing your article for grammar and spelling. We reserve the right to change or modify a part of the article. We will provide you with a URL for final approval before we publish.

I look forward to your contributions. The combination of eVB and the Pocket PC platform are a compelling technology and will have, in my estimation, a significant impact on extending the scope of enterprise solutions.

If you have any questions please contact me at derek@devbuzz.com - we are here to facilitate you in any way we can.

Sincerely
Derek Mitchell
