From the left T6, XDA Pocket PC Phone Edition, Sendo Smartphone, HP 928 - Pocket Phone Edition and T39. BTW - the T68 phone on the left is Simon Rackstraw's - author of signature capture with eVB.

To those attendees that are thinking that I have forgotten to mention the Pocket PC Fanfest - think again. It was a blast - MS did a fantastic job, to the protect the innocent I won't be publishing those pictures.

The developers

One of the conference highlights had to be the people that I met. Being the first MS Mobility Developers Conference you knew that everyone that was there had an interest in the future of mobility development. In this respect the conference was unique - mobility development wasn't fighting for attention amongst hordes of desktop developers (not that there is anything wrong with that!) instead it was on the stage. To that end it was very gratifying to swap ideas and have a meeting of minds with people embarking down the same development track as yourself. I thoroughly enjoyed meeting Vassili Philippov of PocketPCDN and spb; and Chris Muench who needs no introduction (Windows CE Technology Tour author). In addition the unprecedented access to the MS experts in the .NET Compact Framework and SQL Server CE arena was a first - looking at the agenda and seeing nothing but mobility developer sessions is a beautiful thing and hopefully it will be repeated next year - in the States!

Consumers and business users can easily identify and purchase applications from Handango Inc. or the mobile operator Web site and install them on their mobile devices.

This enables ISVs and mobile operators to realize additional revenue from application sales.
